Our Veterinarians

Dr. Chuck Lemme
Dr. Lemme is a 1975 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was employed in a small animal practice in Evanston, Illinois for his first 10 years after graduation. In 1985, he returned home to Cedar Rapids and purchased Blairs Ferry Pet Hospital from Dr. Bob Bishop. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, and has a special interest in surgery. Dr. Lemme has been very active in veterinary organizations. He has served as president of the Linn County Veterinary Association, the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Association and the Midwest Small Animal Association. He has served on committees for the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. He served as president of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association in 2007-8. Dr. Lemme has shared his home with many dogs and cats over the years and currently has a big orange cat named PJ.

Dr. Teresa Streeper
Dr. Streeper attended Iowa State University, majoring in Zoology. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1985. She graduated from the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Upon graduation, she was an associate veterinarian at Mesa Veterinary Hospital, a 24-hour facility in Mesa, Arizona. Originally from Monticello, Iowa, Dr. Streeper has been practicing small animal medicine in Cedar Rapids since 1994. She has served as an officer of the Linn County Veterinary Association, Midwest Small Animal Association and as a member of the Linn County Board of Public Health. She enjoys general practice with a special interest in internal medicine. On a personal note, she enjoys horseback riding, antiquing, reading and outdoor activities. Dr. Streeper and her husband Brian also enjoy sporting events and spending time with their families. Currently they have a mischievous cat named Jersey and a quarter horse gelding, Pepper.

Our Veterinary Technicians

We employ college graduate veterinary technicians who are registered by the state, to help ensure the best care for your pet. They are required to attend continuing education each year, so they can provide the most up to date information about your pet’s care.
